It was a grand birthday fete for veteran actor Prabhu as he bagged the award named after his father thespian Sivaji Ganesan at the annual film awards nite organised by V4 Entertainers in Chennai on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the actor, who turned 54 on Friday, said, ‘ it is a great honour to receive the award named after my father. I will continue to do good films and live up to the honour’.
The other prominent winners include Priyadharshan ( best director for Kancheevaram), actor Bharath (Arumugham), music composer Devi Sri Prasad (Kanthaswamy) , actress Dhanshika (Peranmai), comedian Vadivelu (for many films) and lyricist Vairamuthu. Actor- director- producer Sasikumar was presented with a special award on the occasion.
Among those who took part in the celebrations include Union Minister D Nepolean, State Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi, Tamil film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, producer A V M Saravanan and actor Parthiban
